Barra Island
 
Barra Island is one of the southernmost islands in the Outer Hebrides, covering an area of approximately 305 sq km (118 sq miles), it is a beautiful island.
Benbecula
 
Flatter than most of the Outer Hebrides, Benbecula features many sea and inland lochs. North and South Uist are linked via a causeway that runs through Benbecula.
Caithness
 
Caithness lies to the very northeast of Scotland and is sheltered by mountains in the west. An historic area with rich farmland and rolling moors, the Orkney Islands lie off its north coast.
Harris
A mountainous island with stunning scenery, Harris lies in the Outer Hebrides and is known for the production of Tweed cloth, and is popular with walkers, climbers and anglers.
Lewis
The largest of the islands in the Outer Hebrides, Lewis features picturesque moorland, lochs and many sandy beaches, originally settled by Picts in prehistoric times.
North Uist
North Uist is covered with lochs and ringed by a rugged coastline riddled with sea lochs, cliffs and sandy bays. Part of the the Outer Hebrides, it is known for its abundance of wildlife.
Island of Raasay
Lying between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland, Raasay is less rugged than other islands in the Inner Hebrides, having a landscape of rich vegetation and rounded hills.
Ross & Cromarty
Ross and Cromarty is a mountainous county with a beautiful and rugged coastline. Largely forested, the area features many high peaks, deep valleys and lochs. Skye lies off its coast.
Isle of Skye
The largest of the Inner Hebrides, Skye is a mountainous island with peaks reaching 1,009 m (3,309 feet) and a jagged coastline featuring jutting peninsulas and numerous sea lochs.
South Uist
Part of the Outer Hebrides, South Uist features a deeply indented east coast, a west coast covered in sand dunes and fine sandy beaches, and some very picturesque scenery.
Sutherlandshire
At the northern tip of the North West Highlands, Sutherlandshire is a rugged and mountainous county, with lovely scenery that features deer forests, lochs and moorland.
